Bridges and special structures.

Arch bridge with a prestressed concrete deck
A 204 m deck arch bridge across a deep valley in Madeira: a fixed concrete arch carrying a prestressed deck. Designed, never built.

Every element is read from the design drawings. Open it, rotate it, step through construction.

Drag to turn it. Scroll to zoom. Use the tabs to switch between construction and the final structure.

I am happiest with a structure in front of me, and happiest of all when it is a bridge.
A bridge is structural engineering at its most visible: every span is a decision about force, material and the way the thing will be built. That is what drew me to it.
I am equally convinced that artificial intelligence can change how civil engineering is done. I build personal projects and tools that help my day-to-day work, and that I hope will help push the field forward. The 3D model on this page is one of them.
I work in Lisbon.
